Haus Henter

Situated on the outskirts of the village of Reichenau, it is almost impossible to tell the original appearance of this detached home, which was built in the 1970s. The extension and renovation of the building in the context of an economical and ecological renewal took top priority in the planning considerations. The clear language of design in the centre of the partially traditional building results from the internal functional contexts and the external relationships between the visual space and outdoor space. The basic structure was kept but the existing gable roof over the full structure was, however, removed. The western section includes a building structure with an area of 75.0 m² which projects towards the road by approx. 2.50 m and at the same time forms a protected open area on the newly constructed garage. The terrace level above the garage blends in seamlessly with the living area and opens up the view to the ruins of Reichenau castle. The remaining roof section of the building is designed as a flat roof terrace with a larch slatted frame. The result is a terrace and open area section which enables residents to spend daytimes outside, enjoying the different seasons.
