Designed by Louis Aloys Risse, the Grand Concourse was constructed between 1894-1909. This world famous thoroughfare was built during the height of the City Beautiful movement; it was modeled on the Champs-Elysees in Paris. Perched high upon Fordham Gneiss, the Grand Concourse offers the perfect vantage point to envision the future development of New York City.
Manhatta's new office will be a live-work space situated within the heart of the Grand Concourse historic district. The existing space is a one-bedroom apartment with an over-sized foyer. The scope of work consists of the modernization of millwork, fixtures and finishes throughout. The first phase of work, scheduled to commence in August of 2011, includes upgrading the existing electrical and upgrading the millwork in the kitchen.
