The site lies on the southern side of Hanover Street, close to Hanover Square within the Mayfair Conservation Area.
The mixed use scheme replaces five existing buildings and provides over 2,000 sq m of office space, a retail unit and five exemplarily designed residential units over six floors.
The office scheme draws on the rhythm and proportions set up by the surrounding vertical bays to knit into its streetscape, whilst maintaining the rich variety and verticality of the street. This variety also informs the design of the residential scheme, modeled to emphasise its slender plot width, a common feature of the conservation area. The shuttered façade of the residential building was inspired by the military tailors that used to predominantly occupy the street. Their techniques, forms of embroidery and bronze detailed shop fronts informed the detailed design of the brass panelled façade, with glimpses of deep red visible in the shutter reveals.
