The Galaxidi house is set into the hillside on the outskirts of an old merchant port in the Gulf of Corinth. The main challenge involved testing the limits of the regionally-protected traditional vernacular. As a designer, freedom for minimalism and openness was gained via roof surfaces and a subterranean siting strategy. This further reinforced passive thermal performance, and produced spaces with 360 deg. views.
