Project INFLATABLE re-energizes and completely revitalizes Miami Marine Stadium into a major venue for performances while simultaneously creating one of Miami’s newest icons.We believe that the strong visual identity of project INFLATABLE will draw much needed attention to the existing Marine Stadium, but more importantly, be used to establish a connection to the city of Miami itself.

The design of project INFLATABLE consists of two major components. The first element of project INFLATABLE takes the form of a simple and elegant disc inflated with helium which floats above the second component, an existing barge converted into a stage. Composed entirely of lightweight materials, the simple form of the floating disc complements the elegance of the existing stadium while the lighter-than-air construction eliminates the need for complicated and expensive structure. The usage of an existing barge as a stage further reduces complexity and cost.

Utilizing helium as the main form of structure, Project INFLATABLE achieves a vast span of 280ft; it is tied down by six anchor cables. The vast size of the floating disc serves three main purposes, to allow for maximum flexibility and shade for the stage below, at the same time creating a large visual icon able to be seen from downtown Miami. The floating disc itself is perforated to allow for natural light onto the stage creating a unique spatial experience for those below. The large surface area above allows for the installation of PV solar panels generating electricity for the LED lights below. Minimizing on-site construction time, setup and storage is a simple process, project INFLATABLE can easily be inflated or deflated in a matter of hours and quickly towed by ship to any location.

We strongly believe that the design of Project INFLATABLE will serve as the catalyst for the development and revitalization of the Miami Marine Stadium. By building a strong public connection to the existing stadium, project INFLATABLE seeks to provide an exciting and unique experience that will establish itself as the new destination for the people of Miami and beyond.
