Paul McAneary Architects have explored a new innovative bathing experience, developing a design concept which combines functionality, sustainability and the high quality infinity design detail normally associated with luxury.
The infinity detail as it stands is inappropriate for 21st century home bathing, the waste water produced from an overflowing bath would be highly inefficient and unreasonable. Our design incorporates a recycling tank, that filters and recovers all used water for toilet flushing etc, making the infinity detail desirable, sustainable, ecological hence ‘Eco-finity’. Finally the spa and 5* hotel essential core experience comes home to our bathrooms, hence the Spa-th.
Concealed around the inner edge of the bath is a 360° grab rail, built in to the infinity detail. It provides a practical solution whilst not interrupting the elegant minimal design. The ‘Spa-th’ is built from Kaldewei’s 3.5mm steel enamel and has a self cleaning surface.
Eco-finity Screen Spa-th for Kaldewei
Once we conceived the Eco-finity Spa-th we developed a top of the range version of it, integrating a dynamic 360° transparent screen for a never before seen approach to relaxing in the bath. The TOLED screen can be raised or lowered by a hydraulic lift mechanism, enclosing the bather in the material of their choice, truly creating a luxurious cocoon from the world outside. The bath is intended to act as a Wi-Fi device, the user will simply need to play their computer or phone apps on their screen and set the preferences for the individuals bespoke content, as they would on any other device. From pure luxury and indulgence with TV, films or virtual candles to huge therapeutic potential in the form of light and water treatments, the possibilities for the Eco-finity Screen Spa-th are infinite.
The Eco-finity Spa-th was conceived as part of the ‘Kaldewei Iconic Concepts Design Competition 2011’.
