SetAntaSet is a multi-family building with 32 units spread across 6 floors, located on a corner of the historic center of Sabadell, where for years there stood an old mansion with a private garden full of trees and vines. Although the previous construction had no architectural value, the garden, trees, and vines, which over time created their own space there, became a reference point for all the city’s inhabitants. The house of the vines, as it was popularly known, definitively became the starting point for the new building.

A building that, like its predecessor, would allow passersby to enjoy the vegetal views of its interior courtyards, terraces, and balconies. While from the outside one would sense what is happening inside, from within there would always be a relationship of closeness and proximity to the street and the hustle and bustle of the city.

The proposal is based on a large radical cut of the chamfer where the accesses and common areas will be located, generating spaces for socializing among neighbors and transforming access from the lobby to each unit into a pleasant outdoor stroll. From the street, the view towards the private tree-lined courtyard is maintained, and one can sense the circulation of neighbors through the open corridors, somewhat blurring the barriers between the public and the private.

Order, rationality, natural light, and the flexibility and versatility of spaces are the main characteristics that define the interior spaces.

From the initial sketches of the project, both the building’s exterior and the units themselves were conceived with the utmost environmental respect, so that in the future it invites living and enjoying it with the highest commitment to sustainability.

The large vertical cut, made of exposed brick, recalls the old party walls of the former plot, which the vines made their own.
