The Red Line

Salah al-Din Citadel is an international beacon of heritage and culture, and an essential destination for both tourists and locals in Egypt. From its heart, a contemporary culture emerges, fostering social, cultural, and economic partnerships. The walls, once a physical symbol of protection, are now a haven, embracing, supporting, and bringing together visionaries in a safe and fertile space of creativity and collaboration.

So Something Else happened in the citadel, an international art event consists of art exhibitions, art performances, films, Music, diverse workshops, street art, talks and lectures by local as well as international artists and art connoisseurs that take place in diverse art and cultural spaces in Cairo.

there is something else wasn’t told in the citadel, and there is something else could be added to the venue, another new layer to intersect with the citadel layers. The ’’redline project’’  project acts as a bridge between the rich history of the Salah Eldin Citadel and the innovative world of architectural design. the purpose is to create a harmonious blend of the existing architecture and contrasty remarkable architecture that guides by ‘‘following the red’’, offering people a unique and captivating experience.

To achieve this, careful consideration was given to the layout and design of the walkthrough. The entrance was strategically positioned to welcome visitors and set the tone for their journey. As they progress through the space, they are guided along a thoughtfully curated path that showcases various artworks, each contributing to the overall narrative.

One of the highlights of the project is the inclusion of the historical Ayyubid wall. Previously inaccessible to the public, this significant piece of history is now made available for exploration. Visitors can marvel at its architectural grandeur and gain a deeper understanding of its historical context.

Throughout the walkthrough, the design seamlessly integrates modern elements with the existing structures, creating a visually stunning and immersive environment. The use of innovative materials, lighting techniques, and interactive displays enhances the overall experience, engaging visitors on multiple sensory levels.

The project's ultimate goal is to provide a memorable experience for all who visit. By representing  the historical ruins of the wall of the Salah Eldin Citadel with contemporary architectural design, to offer  very safe pathways through the whole project  and a meeting point where the past and present converge, leaving a lasting impression on visitors.
