Sky City Perched on the Edge of Cliff

The scenery carries with its memories. A hidden architecture is the product of geological processes and human energy accumulated. The project aims to rejuvenate the local tourism industry and explore the local heritage of ethnic culture by reconstructing an abandoned mining landscape site.

The core concept of this project is to create a resort community designed with a symbiosis-living island as its design theme (an open resort community where culture, commerce, and resort tourism co-exist). The aim is to create a new dynamic future destination in the forgotten cliff mines, where the local economy, modern art, and the historical heritage of the site merge together. The design team used elements of local minority culture, cliffs, mines, and hot springs in the design, as well as geometric patterns from local minority totems as inspiration for the architectural style, creating an integrated relationship between people, nature, and the resort community.

The resort community is divided into three parts: the commercial shopping street, the cliff accommodation and the public buildings, which are linked by a cliff railway that allows people to transfer to the destination by walking and riding the cliff train.
