Ferndale, MI
In 2016, Queens Bar represented the reactivation of a long-vacant, major street corner in Detroit's downtown, central business district. The Streamline Moderne facade was restored replete with a reconstruction of the zinc canopy. The curving interior lines took their cues from the exterior. Hundreds of sheets of maple plywood were salvaged to form the walls and bar, giving the stoic building a sense of warmth, craft, and humanity.
