Our office was given the task by investors to design a minimalist cottage on elevated ground. This area has climate variations between -20 °C to 40 °C. Due to low temperatures and heavy snowfall, the roof was made sloping and hidden between low walls to make the house looks like it is by the sea.
The house is located on a plot of 20,000 m2, on a large slope, to the north, with an extraordinary view of the forest. The house is located at the highest point of the plot, has the main access from the south.This house has one bedroom and the biggest focus is on the living room. The flat part of the land is used for a house and an outdoor space that is occupied by a parking lot, a swimming pool and a seating area. Parking on the west side of the house is separated by a large stone wall that also creates a barrier of view from the only access road.
