The Machine Of Life

Why Machine Of Life?

The building is imagined as a place where life is produced. A stable place of living, where there is therefore a community, but also a non-stable place, that of the stadium. These two modes are intertwined through services that are useful both to the stable community and to the unstable community, thus forming a stability / instability relationship where continuous flows are generated, which release energy continuously and therefore, life.

The Machine Of Life is a hybrid building that works as both a sport arena as a residential units. The basic idea is to take the classic New York residential block and combine it with a classic stadium bowl, which is appropriately designed to meet the quality of sports requirements. The residential block isrotated so as to develop in width and not in height, and joined on the foursides of the stadium.   To complete the stadium, eight levels are added which will allow the influx of the spectators and will host all the services and facilities linked to it. In addition, to combine residences andstadiums, all those services closely related to the resident and non-resident communities (museum, library, preschool, offices) are included. The connections between residences and services / stadium take place through suspended bridgesthat sew the two parts. Inside, there is a park that runs through the perimeter of the stadium, a green filter, which makes the building breathe. The light covering of the stadium leans on the block of the residences increasing even more the bond between the two parts, that in correspondence of the loop park, allows the filtering of the light.
