KOICHI FUTATSUMATA
Designer, Representative Director.
Born in Kagoshima, Japan. After graduating from Department of Engineering and Architecture at Kyushu Industrial University, Futatsumata set up design unit "CASE-REAL" and started his professional career. He has exhibited his work at various exhibitions domestically and internationally. In 2000, Futatsumata established his own design studio "CASE-REAL" in Fukuoka where he provides design solutions in the areas of space, architecture and furniture. In 2013, Futatsumata set up "KOICHI FUTATSUMATA STUDIO" where he developed his product design practice further.
Representative architectural works include: "RESTAURANT ON THE SEA (Teshima, Kagawa/restaurant)", "HOUSE IN TSURUMAKI (Tokyo/house)", "White Dormitory for Il Vento (Teshima, Kagawa/dormitory)", "JOYCE TLG (Hong Kong/shop)", "SUZUKAKE HONTEN (Fukuoka/shop)". Representative object works include: "IN THE SKY (Edition HORZONTAL by E&Y/multiple)", "22 (EK Japan/hybrid tube amplifier)", "HAMMOCK (E&Y/table)". In 2011 his work "22" was added to the permanent collection at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
