The Laboratory for Explorative Architecture & Design (LEAD) is a young Hong Kong & Antwerp based architectural design and research practice.
LEAD explores innovative and surprising architectural outcomes by merging client briefs with bespoke design. LEAD strategically combines advanced digital design and fabrication technology with traditional manufacturing opportunities and on-site craftsmanship. Its scope and services stretch from initial design through construction up to project realisation. In its work LEAD seeks to provoke sensual, haptic reactions from users interacting with the architecture.
Within its first year of operation LEAD won the Hong Kong 2012 Global Design Excellence Award for their Shine Fashion Store and received the Perspective 2012 40 under 40 Award.
