Marcel Wanders grew up in Boxtel (1963), the Netherlands, and graduated cumlaude from the School of the Arts Arnhem in 1988. He is an independent product and interior designer and art director who currently resides in Amsterdam. 

Clients past and present include a range of international luxury and lifestyle brands like Moooi (of which he is Founder and Art Director), Cappellini, Bisazza, Christofle, B&B Italia, FPM, Vitra, Kartell, Moroso, Flos, Boffi, among scores of others. A growing number of interior and hospitality projects also form part of the studio’s portfolio, including Marcel’s own Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht (NL), Quasar Residences (Instanbul, TK) the Mondrian South Beach (Miami, US) and Kameha Grand Bonn (DE). 

Work by Marcel Wanders has been selected for some of the most renowned design collections and exhibitions in the world, such as the Museums of Modern Art in New York and San Francisco, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. 

Marcel has featured in leading design magazines like Domus, Interni, Blueprint, Design Report, Frame, I.D. magazine, the Financial Times and Business Week, and was billed by the New York Times as the “Lady Gaga of the design world.”
