Ryan Enschede Studio is an architectural practice based in New York City working to create poetry from solutions adapted to climate and existing built conditions.
Technical areas of expertise include ultra-low energy Passive House construction, sunlight harvesting for daylighting, rooftop solar, and renovation of existing buildings. Additional areas of focus include passive conditioning, climate-responsive design, and building-integrated vegetation.
I believe these technics can be shaped into a new language of beauty and pleasure, which can in turn facilitate returned intimacy with 'nature' in our experience of the built environment.
I work for clients seeking professionally delivered architectural services, intelligent innovation, and high-quality outcomes, who simultaneously demand aesthetic and technical excellence, who seek to balance the altruistic and pragmatic, and who desire to maximize impact, return on investment, and long-term performance. Although I bring a clear viewpoint to any project I most enjoy working collaboratively to get inside my client's needs and together make art.
I foster a collaborative, positive work environment dedicated to excellence.
It is always a pleasure to meet with junior architects and colleagues interested in the endeavor.
