‘Creating enriched spaces to be experienced by more people’
Kenji Mantani Studio is a Japanese-Chinese architectural practice based in Shanghai and Japan since 2009, with extensive experience and study research in retail, commercial offices, mixed-use and creative parks. Our team is devoted to create special places for living, learning, working, shopping and culture for the growing affluent middle-classes in China.
Kenji Mantani graduated from Kyushu University (Japan) and Hongkong University in 1995. He has experiences at OMA Asia and one of the co-founders of HMA Shanghai in 2003. One of his famous works is Shanghai creative park called ‘Bridge 8’, a pioneer of its kind when first opened in 2004. The project turned to be very successful and now there are over 200 creative parks in Shanghai alone. Another successful project is ‘Nanjing Water City’, an open-mall style commercial and retail space that is extraordinary to be found in China.
