Jeffrey Berman Architect (JBA) is a technically sophisticated, service-oriented architectural firm that welcomes challenging projects with complex design requirements. Since founding the firm as a sole proprietorship in 1988, Jeffrey Berman, AIA, board-certified healthcare architect, has provided the medical community with architectural services based on a deep understanding of the community’s unique technological, regulatory, and operational requirements. He is a working principal who plays an active role in every project in the office.

JBA’s success and ability to stay on healthcare’s cutting edge is exemplified by its long-term, ongoing relationships with clients such as the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York Methodist Hospital, New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Montefiore Medical Center, Westchester Medical Center and the Veterans Administration Health Care System. In designing institutional healthcare projects or other technically challenging projects for these clients, Jeffrey Berman Architect takes special care not only to fulfill specific operational and institutional needs, but also to address the concerns of those who must live and work in these spaces, from owners to patients to researchers to visitors. We know from experience that technical facilities for healthcare must be designed to support a work process and enhance the environment for the staff and the patients. In particular, the patient experience must be comfortable and seamless.

JBA is a small firm that does big projects that are grounded in 20-year relationships with institutions and facilities. Once these institutions have gotten to know us, they value us and keep us. Having built the practice on long relationships with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York Methodist Hospital, the American Museum of Natural History, among others, JBA is now endeavoring to cast a wider net.
