Danny Forster founded DANNY FORSTER Design Studio in 2007, shortly after receiving his Master's in Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
Forster entered graduate school with an academic background in art and architectural history (Wesleyan University), and a professional background in real estate (he founded UrbanFilter, a web-based real estate start-up, in 2001). His graduate thesis devised a vertical corporate campus that resolves the tension between real-estate valuation and architectural typologies.
In 2006, Forster became the on-air host of what would become Build It Bigger, an award-winning global architecture and engineering documentary series. Build It Bigger is now in its fourth season.
Forster is also the creator and executive producer, alongside Steven Spielberg, of The Rising, a long-form documentary series chronicling the rebuilding of Ground Zero. He does national outreach as a consultant for Discovery Education, lectures internationally on architecture and sustainability, and teaches a graduate level architecture studio on sustainable design for both Harvard and Syracuse universities.
