Evolute GmbH is a high-tech company founded in February 2008 as a spin-off from the research group of Prof. H. Pottmann at Vienna University of Technology. The foundation of the company is motivated by a strong need for geometric computing expertise in modern architecture. This need results from one of the most striking trends in contemporary architecture: designs based on complex freeform structures. In order to better exploit the potential of the developed technologies, Evolute is also performing research and consulting on manufacturing technologies which are related to those used in architecture.
