buildingLandscape was founded jointly by architects Satoru Yamashiro and Takao Nishizawa in December 2002 as a first-class architect office. Our work mainly focuses on the design and management of buildings and landscapes, but in order to further develop these designs and give back to society, we also conduct various research and development projects and design plans and opportunities for discussion on urban design. While our office is made up of only a few members, our staff members have a diverse range of talents not only in architectural design but also in research and development as well as workshop facilitation. Our main office is in Tokyo, but we also have a branch in Osaka and, although our branch abroad is now closed, we also hope to actively be involved in overseas projects.
