Civic Projects Architecture is a Chicago-based practice with a focus on high quality design and long-term strategic thinking. Acting as the catalyst and incubating projects, their approach is highly participatory, expanding the role of architecture to include grant-writing, development, and revitalization on several scales. Civic Projects works closely with both clients and stakeholders to develop projects that address their particular context.
In addition to GCE Lab School, current undertakings include the museum design of the Obama Presidential Center with Ralph Appelbaum Associates, and the strategic planning and programming for the Chicago Torture Justice Center. Recent clients include educational, residential, commercial and non-profit entities, with projects ranging from interior renovations to gut rehabilitations.
Founded by Monica Chadha, AIA, LEED AP, Civic Projects is a City of Chicago Certified Minority and Women Owned Business.
