F-ARE is an architectural practice based in Los Angeles, CA. We believe that architecture operates as a cultural artifact that articulates the ethos of its authors and users. We are technical thinkers and approach the architectural process by investigating context, history, representation and design.
F-ARE is interested in residences at the single and multi-family scale. Dwellings are the terrain of experimentation for architectural approaches often translated to the larger realm of our discipline discourse. Throughout the centuries residential projects have woven the fabric of our built environment and have represented both shelter and coming together.
Our cities thrive when density of use, movement and people is addressed through sets of permeable thresholds. In our projects we question how to transform the urban accumulation of increasingly privatized space into cities. Our work is made of conversations and our clients/dwellers are citizens. This is our mission in the landscape of modern Los Angeles.
