WHERE WE STARTED
Richard S. Matsunaga, AIA founded Richard Matsunaga and Associates in 1964. From humble beginnings the firm grew and expanded to provide architectural design services throughout Hawaii and the Pacific Rim. On the firm’s 50th anniversary the company was rebranded to RMA Architects Inc. to update its identity while continuing to pay homage to our founder.
WHO WE ARE
The principals and staff that have led this firm over the past five decades have passed down a wealth of knowledge to everyone who has worked here. RMA is comprised of experienced professionals skilled in architecture, planning, interior design and construction management. We are focused on serving clients’ needs and strive to achieve design excellence through leadership, creative thinking and technical expertise. Our team has a vast range of experience designing small renovations to large, new construction facilities for Federal, State, Government, and Commercial clientele.

Appreciation – Giving back to the communities we serve is important to us. We are enthusiastic supporters of participating in service events such as the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, Special Olympics Summer Games, Habitat for Humanity Builds, and United Way Fundraising to name a few.
