Cox, Kliewer & Company, P.C. was established in 1984, and thus has been performing architectural and interior design services for over 30 years now. We are a private corporation and Gerald A. Cox and Lawrence W. Kliewer are the managing Principals. Our Commonwealth of Virginia Registration number is 04 05 001365. We currently have 21 people on staff, 7 of which are registered architects and 2 are licensed interior designers. We are a small business and have designation by the Commonwealth of Virginia SWAM program as such. Our offices are in Virginia Beach, Virginia and our commissions range from Virginia to California, Chicago to Florida, in a total of 25 states and over 25 million SF of space.
Our success is attributed to the care with which we execute our commissions, the talent of our staff, quality of our service, and most importantly our relationships with our clients. We are unique in that the majority of our commissions are for private entities, primarily in the industrial, corporate, retail and residential sectors. As such, our work is always tailored to the specific needs of the client and a set budget that cannot be exceeded. We are very proud that at least 85% of our commissions are either from repeat clientele or by referral.
We keep our overhead low by teaming with the appropriate engineering consultants for each particular project. After all, designing an HVAC system for a large industrial facility is very much different than for an apartment complex. Rather than having in-house engineers, we believe it is more successful to our clients if we team with the most qualified consultants for their specific project.
We combine our dedication to design quality with clear communication and a strong teamwork orientation. It is through this communication and the belief that the design team, working closely with the client representatives and the construction team, will bring the best they can offer to the project and will achieve the best results.
