Studioshaw is an architecture practice based in East London. We are driven by creating original, thoughtfully designed buildings which respond carefully to our client's brief.
We are working on a wide range of projects from an NHS England study for a project focused on children and young people, a new build restaurant in registered parkland, a re-modelling of an arts and crafts era house in Buckinghamshire, a cultural 'factory' in Bethnal Green and a concept store for a high-end retail chain.
Studioshaw was established in April 2016 by Mark Shaw. Mark is an experienced architect who has worked in some of London’s leading architectural practices for over 14 years, including Ushida Findlay, Foster and Partners, Hopkins Architects, Springett Mackay Architects, Universal Design Studio and Duggan Morris Architects. He graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. He has been involved in a wide range of projects including sculptures and installations, new buildings, existing buildings, inner-London conservation areas and rural locations. He has worked with private clients, developers and large complex organisations.
We enjoy engagement and interaction and we believe that good design springs from a positive and active engagement with client and end users. This philosophy is particularly embodied in the 'Child House' project where Mark led a 4 month research project involving key stakeholders in the first stage of the project.
A key philosophy of the practice is flexible design. We believe that buildings should be designed to accommodate the rapidly changing world and the technology and physical objects which embody it. These objects are constantly being reinvented, becoming increasingly influential but equally obsolete in increasingly small cycles.
