Laurie B. Haefele, Associate A.I.A, ASID, NKBA, has specialized in innovative kitchen and bath design since 1997. She is known for her extreme attention to detail and knowledge of the latest trends. She is also celebrated for her versatility and range of style. Laurie’s dedication to excellence began with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Pratt Institute and a Master’s degree in architectural history and theory from UCLA.
“I was inspired by the strong lines and modern aesthetics of masters such as Alva Aalto, Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn, and this led me to my first career move,” says Laurie. She joined the world- renowned architectural firm of Gwathmey Siegel and Associates in New York City. Among other projects, she worked on the New York City Guggenheim expansion and on a variety of New York residences.
In Southern California, Laurie founded Haefele Design in 2002. An associate member of A.I.A., Laurie’s inventive designs are often influenced by her architectural sensibility. She also practices an extraordinary service ethic, which is why Laurie can point to an extremely satisfied clientele who include discerning elite from the business and entertainment fields. As Laurie says, “About 95% of my work is from referral. I believe in delivering what my clients want, and working until they are happy with the results.”
Laurie’s work has been consistently acknowledged with several awards. She has been recognized as one of the world’s top designers byRobb Report Luxury Home Magazine in 2007. One of her kitchen designs can be found in a Wallace Neff designed Pasadena residence, which was awarded “Ultimate Kitchen” by the Robb Report Ultimate Home Issue (April 2002).
