Some of the typical professional services covered in our Scope of works are:
- Providing Conceptual & Detailed lighting design in accordance with the agreed budgets.
- Preparation of design concepts to make the lighting system future proof and to be a benchmark to the relevant local and international standards.
- Presentation of design concept and details to the project architects, Interior architects, Landscape consultant, Façade consultants, Client and other team members.
- Illumination of Office areas, conference rooms, executive cabins, meeting rooms, server rooms, break out areas and Common area lighting, exterior areas, landscaping, facade etc.
- Illumination of Service and utility areas/buildings
- Play area and gym area lighting
- Proposal of aviation lights, wherever necessary.
- Preparation of Interior Lighting Design calculations, including, safety lighting for escape routes, anti panic lighting and standby lighting for emergency purposes.
- Preparation of Interior Lighting layout in coordination with the project architects, Interior architects, Landscape consultant, Façade consultants and other team members.
- Preparation of lighting control schemes, incorporating emergency lighting scenarios.
- Attending monthly review meetings
- Techno commercial evaluation of Lighting vendors
- Coordinating and assisting in site mock-up approvals
- Providing and coordinating maintenance training by vendors to maintenance team.
- The Project Lighting Consultant shall periodically visit the project site as per predetermined schedule, in order to determine whether the construction works are proceeding in accordance with the approved plans, designs and specifications.
- During every stage of preparation of drawings, the Project Lighting Consultant shall interact with project architects, Interior architects, Landscape consultant, Façade consultants and other team members for the inputs required like location/size of structural members, type of Architectural finishes, layout/size of HVAC ducts, wet riser ducts, HVAC rooms, layout of services data cable & electrical ducts, lifts, etc. for incorporation of service inputs.
- The Project Lighting Consultant shall periodically review and collaborate with and provide assistance to the Project Manager and other consultants on all matters concerning the Project Quality.
- Project Quality shall mean
- Monitoring Design Fidelity or Design Adherence by visual means
- Assessing the Finished Product (executed by the appointed vendor)
- Submitting Design Fidelity / Adherence report to project architects
- Project Quality shall NOT include
- Checking & Approving Quality of Materials brought for execution
- Conducting Material / Product Tests at sites or at Labs
- Conducting Quality Checks of the Finished Product(s) at site
ADDITIONAL SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED BY THE PROJECT LIGHTING CONSULTANT
The following services when performed by the Project Lighting Consultant with prior Authorization of project architects, in writing, shall be compensated for by project architect by way of payment of a fee in addition to the Consultancy Fee.
The Project Lighting Consultant must notify project architect and agree on the quantum of additional fee in writing before carrying out any of the following services:
- Major changes of drawings in pursuance of the Client /Client representative / project architect instructions to amend or alter significantly the design after approval of concept and drawings by Client /Client representative /project architect
- Rendering additional services and/or doing additional work to be mutually agreed up on.
It is the responsibility of the Lighting consultant to prepare the lighting layout suitable for execution with lighting and emergency controls in coordination with client and other team members.
In General, the scope includes Interior lighting design, for all the areas which come under the master plan and any other lighting design related scope for the successful commissioning of the indoor and outdoor lighting systems and controls.
Schematic Design Stage:
- Providing Conceptual & Schematic lighting design in accordance with the agreed budgets.
- Preparation of design concepts to make the lighting system future proof and to be a benchmark to the relevant local and international standards.
- Preparation of concept design with visual aids, drawings and documents for project architects & clients review
- Confirmation of the client requirement including specifications and drawings
- Understanding and interpretation of lighting design requirement in coordination with the project architects; reviewing the same for design integration with other services.
- Based on the specifications / drawings / documents, the Project Lighting Consultant shall propose different options for Lighting layout plans and perspectives /images /sketches of the proposal in-line with the client requirement.
- The Project Lighting Consultant shall make a Power point presentation along with hard copy of lighting design, illustrations, images, etc. to project architects, Interior architects, Landscape consultant, Façade consultants and other team members.
- The Project Lighting Consultant shall liaison with the project architects for obtaining all relevant information with respect to services and shall integrate them while presenting to client, Interior architects, Landscape consultant, Façade consultants and other team members.
- The Project Lighting Consultant shall make necessary amendments arising out of comments by project architects, Interior architects, Landscape consultant, Façade consultants and other team members on the Concept plan presentation. The revised concept plan shall be submitted again for approval.
- The Project Lighting Consultant shall issue all concept drawings to project architects as per agreed schedule, who, after due verification and coordination will revert back to the Consultant on comments/ reviews on a soft copy. The Consultant will incorporate the same and issue the same to project architects, Interior architects, Landscape consultant, Façade consultants and other team members on receipt of the commented copies (soft form) within a reasonable duration.
Design Development Stage:
- Based on the approved Lighting Concept Plan, the lighting consultant shall prepare detailed working drawings and forward to project architect for review.
- The Project Lighting Consultant shall prepare detailed tender specification on the type of Luminaires, lamp sources, colour temperature, lighting control group, lighting scenarios, LED alternatives etc. The Project Lighting Consultant shall also check and approve samples, mock-ups and shop drawings to ensure conformance with the detailed design.
- Submit detailed lighting design calculations for all/typical areas.
- Provide detailed literature on each luminaire, lamp and control gear including manufacturer's name, catalogue number, rating, material specification, overall dimensions, operating characteristics and principles inclusive of all luminaire/lamp accessories and fixing components plus any special mounting brackets.
- Selection of light fixtures & sample approval for all Exterior areas, meeting the design intent in coordination with the architectural finishes prescribed for all the areas by the client in consultation with project architects, Interior architects, Landscape consultant, Façade consultants and other team members.
- Providing the IES files of all the selected light fixtures.
- Methods of field assembly (scheme of installation) and luminaire/lamp integration into the architectural and interior details components, features, finishes including RAL Numbers, mounting provisions and connection to circuit wiring and to corresponding lighting control equipment
- Review of lighting shop drawings & mock ups pertaining to the project.
- The Project Lighting Consultant shall perform all his duties, services and functions as are generally to be performed by a competent and diligent consultant in a project of this nature.
- The Project Lighting Consultant shall contribute to the value engineering studies to be conducted during the conceptual and detailed design stages to find alternative designs, specifications and materials in order to attain the predetermined construction cost.
Construction Documentation Stage:
- Prepare/edit area wise lighting layouts in plan, elevation and sectional elevation with the approved items.
- Prepare installation notes and sketches in coordination with lighting vendors and installer.
- Attend team meetings, whenever necessary.
- Provide area-wise typical layouts and photometric analysis in plan, elevation and sectional elevation details on the drawings provided by architects, to meet overall requirements of LEED.
- Prepare item wise detailed technical specifications, and floor wise schedule for luminaires, lamps, gears, controls and accessories.
- Prepare tender Specifications calling for quotations from multiple vendors.
- Coordination with the LEED consultants in terms of requirements of LEED buildings on lighting and review and recommendation on the choice of fittings as well.
- Review and confirm lighting meets the compliance requirements set by LEED consultant.
- Calculate lighting power densities to meet overall requirements of LEED.
- Recheck lighting level calculations for modified items in those application areas.
- Prepare revised budgetary estimates and obtain client approval.
- Any lighting design scope required for the successful commissioning and functioning of the lighting system in these areas including on-site oversight of installation including confirmation of correct fixtures, punch lists (with architect) and taking part in Testing and Commissioning.
- Review and comment on Shop drawings submitted by the Lighting Vendor.
