Humanitas University is a new international medical school in Milan built alongside the renowned Humanitas Research Hospital. The project foresees the creation of a new university campus for around 1000 students to be located in Rozzano, on the South of Milan. The site belongs to the suburban area adjacent to the existing hospital complex Humanitas and surrounded by the fields of Parco Sud- one of the few green lungs on the outskirts of the city.
The concept of the new campus takes the maximum advantage from the landscape potentials of the site thanks to its masterplan anchored in the idea of the pedestrian paths indulged into the green and providing an harmonious and respectful insertion into the existing natural context.
Along with the philosophy of the Humanitas group (which combines in all of its activities the research, medicine and education) the campus consists of a university building, a research unit, a Hub- multifunctional building with a canteen and a library and a moderate scale residential fabric.
