Created in 1964, the Architecture Course of the Federal University of Pará originated from the demand of local engineers, who acted as designers, who were assigned two adaptation classes, with a duration of three years. The Course began its activities in the Almirante Barroso Avenue 152 (where today the Monte Líbano Club operates), in the Iron Chalet that today belongs to the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, by donation of Prof. Euler dos Santos Arruda. Subsequently, the activities of the Course were transferred to the Basic Sector of the University Campus (Block A), being transferred to the building nº 964 of Av. José Bonifácio, in the district of São Braz, and then taken back to the Campus in 1979, having his administrative part based in the Laboratory of Soil Mechanics and classes in Pavilions A, B, C and D of the Professional Sector. It started to operate in its own building from 1981, in the University Architecture's Architecture Atelier. Currently, the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism has equipped classrooms, Auditorium, José Sidrim Library and nine Laboratories.
