Location: Stony Brook, NY, USA
Squaring: 450 sq. ft.
Stylist: Japanese Minimalist
Goal: The goal was to create an intimate tea room in a tiny space where visitors can enjoy Japanese tea ceremonies in a calming, culturally rich environment. The space contains a small kitchen and sanitizing area, product storage, service bar, and store display.
Result: The Tea Room is in the Japanese style with contemporary elements. The mood is a relaxing Asian with oriental lights, accent of vibrant colors to energize guests, and wooden minimalist furniture. The student Club provides Japanese tea savoring, Tea ceremonies, and board games playing. The ceiling height is quite low, so we created a light dome in the focal point of the Tea room.
Color palette - gray, light wood, red and golden.
