Reframe is an interdisciplinary exploration of the future of fashion, sustainability, and architecture. The architectural installation was released on May 5th in a Chelsea gallery in NYC. Designed by Monica Valle of Estudio Valle, an architectural design practice with a background in sustainability innovation, for Kajal New York, an eco-conscious luxury fashion brand, the installation showcases Kajal New York's latest collection, featuring wearable and futuristic luxury garments made with sustainable practices and high-quality materials.
Reframe’s membrane sculpture draws inspiration from the kinetics of tensioned members. As visitors experience the installation, they are welcomed into pockets of interaction that emerge from the interplay of light, movement, and texture.
The delicate perception of the sculpture stands in stark contrast to the robust and structural nature of tensioned members. This juxtaposition creates a harmony of textures that envelop visitors and allows them to contemplate their relationship with fashion, their surrounding environment, and the global environment. Reframe is a space where art and sustainability collide, and through its innovative materials and dynamic design, it inspires visitors to take a more conscious approach to their choices, and to contribute towards building a sustainable future.
