I believe that architecture must mean more to us as designers than just the physical enclosure of space or a beautifully rendered image. I believe our duty, as those with a direct impact on our world, is to think primarily of how our design changes the lives of others.
I believe that sustainable architecture is imperative to the future of the discipline and that one responsive method is the manipulation of our current built environment. Sustainability should span beyond r-values and solar panels, valuing our history and the potential for incredible work from the existing. I believe all architecture must be designed to be loved, for it cannot be sustainable without people who love it.
