Currently working as a sustainability consultant, helping fellow architects improve the environmental performance of their buildings through integrated design and response to climate.
WSP Built Ecology, New York, NY, US, Building Performance Specialist
Provides simulation-validated design input to clients on improving building performance to achieve energy savings and a reduced carbon footprint.
Analysis provided includes integrated design concepts, daylight simulation, energy modelling, computational fluid dynamic studies, and renewable energy assessments.
EM Design Group, Project Manager
- Project manager for The Sochi, a 25 story residential high‐rise and community facility.
- Worked on designs for two synagogues, a design/build restaurant, and various multifamily residential and mixed‐use projects.
- Provided sustainable design feasibility studies and environmental design input for multiple projects, including a mixed‐use medical building, two hotels, and a private lakeside residence.
Harvard University, Masters, Masters of Design Studies in Sustainable Design
In the sustainable design program at the GSD, we are learning how to design and consult on high performance buildings though analysis of climate, site, and simulation to inform building design decisions. We are using various software programs to model and predict energy usage and accurately simulate daylight performance. We are also learning how to use environmental data to generate energy conserving features for buildings such as optimized shading devices.
My coursework includes Daylighting in Buildings, Energy in Buildings (at MIT), Environmentally Responsive Building Skins, Thermal Performance and Comfort in Buildings, The Environmental Performance of Tall Buildings, Modelling Urban Energy Flows, Planning and Environmental Law, and Brownfields.
