This design was part of a year long process, which started with the brief “Applying the Borrowed: Palace of Labour”, where, in a group, we analyzed de column design by Pier Luigi Nervi. Following this research, we designed a new column, with the objective to explore material and fabrication (concrete and digital fabrication, with CAD drawings and CNC milling). During the second semester, the brief was to use this design intervening in a historic building in Madrid, Spain: El Conde Duque, a cultural centre.
