ARCHITECTURAL INTERESTS
While studying for my Bachelor of Design at the University of Florida, I became interested in material exploration, tectonic and structural innovation, and formal investigations- to engage these interests, I would like to explore the intersection between art and architecture. I’m interested in the object-like quality architectural forms can take to relate to the human figure. I’m interested in creating architecture that engages landscape, program, and form in a playful and innovative way. I would like to continue to explore the transformative effects of surface and space.
SKILLS & PROFESSIONALISM
I’m proficient in digital and physical modeling. I know how to use many types of modeling and drawing software. I have extensive experience with building physical models in many materials. I also know how to use fabrication- from computers to laser cutters. I’m great with rendering and creating 3D images in photoshop of proposed space.
I’m able to work under pressure to get drawings done. I’m very organized with my time to make sure drawings are done on time. I’m very hard working and a perfectionist with my work. I can work independently but also am a great communicator and collaborator.
OBJECTIVES
I want to learn as much as I can about how important architectural works are produced in the real world. I’m interested in working on all phases of the design and construction process, from sketching to construction documents. I would like to work on models and drawings to help in the design process as well as final presentation documentation. I want to contribute to the design of important works of architecture.
MW Bender Architects, Gainesville, FL, US, Intern
After winning a design competition with my teammate, Roland Faust, I was hired as an intern to work on realizing our competition design. I produced drawings and marketing documents that were used to promote "U14," the winning competition design, to future tenants. I'm currently a freelancer for the project, working remotely in NJ.

Competition Winner: University at 14th Design Competition, 1st Place
In May 2012, my teammate, Roland Faust, and I entered a design competition based in Gainesville, Florida. We were charged with re-imagining a historic building adjacent to the University of Floirda campus. Our project, titled "U14," focused on creating unique architectural responses that gave the historic structure a new identity, new programmatic possibilities, and sustainable design features. We presented our design by creating 3D renderings, site plans, elevations, material palette distinctions, diagrammatic drawings of program, space, and architectural interventions, Ecotect environmental studies, and marketing/signage solutions. The project was completed in one week.
