Eight Inc.‘s pop-up installation for Jordan Brand has been selected as one of the winners of the prestigious German Design Award 2014. The project has won a Special Mention in the Architecture and Interior Design category in recognition of it’s special design quality.
The interactive pop-up installation was created to launch New York Knick’s basketball star Carmelo Anthony’s new M8 Jordan Brand sneaker. Inspiration was the player himself; the exterior of the installation mimics his explosive athletic talent on court, displayed by the shattered basketball floorboards. His calm demeanor off the court can be experienced inside the installation; two concave white walls display video footage that is describing him as a person and what drives and inspires him.
