As a lifetime proponent of art and systems, architecture was the natural choice for a career. Charles Eames said, “Eventually everything connects; people, ideas, objects. The quality of the connections is the key to the quality”. My yearning to be amongst those who create the changing context that forms our cities and lives is what drives. To be able to intimately understand how materials, structure, energy, light, space, society and function all interact with one other is how I feel architecture should be dealt with. Only through investigation can one better understand these systems to become a better designer.
Through my experience, I have learned that no good project is done without a certain amount of care and attention and that this is not accomplished by a single person. It requires extensive communication to achieve the greatest possible effect. Each project involves more than simply designing a building; it is rigorous problem solving in a logical, organized and well-defined manner. In my experience working overseas, I learned the importance of good design is not only for the client, but the public that sees and uses the buildings. Additionally, learning different methods of construction, design and documentation outside of the US was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I enjoy learning, and I believe becoming a better designer is an ever-evolving endeavor. I am disciplined in my approach; I study hard, work harder, focus on the problem at hand and am not afraid to take the initiative. In the pursuit to enhance my skills to problem solve and explain an idea more effectively; I have taken it upon myself to learn new software and techniques. My commitment, work ethic, and self-motivation allow me to strive for the highest possible standards.
Considering my skill set and my determination to be the among the best, I believe I have much to offer. My ambition is to contribute to society by introducing a sophistication where harmony and beauty coalesce. Moreover, I am personable, sociable and a great asset to any team.
