About 

Ian Docherty began his architectural experience in a two hour per day career drafting class at Lakeland High School, MI. He continued to explore the field of architecture at Oakland Community College in Auburn Hills, MI where he obtained an AAS in Architecture Degree. Ian simultaneously worked full time at Direct Connect Systems in Commerce, MI building special cables for machines/computers + wiring harnesses for automobiles. A much further exploration of architecture is currently happening at Parsons School of Constructed Environments in NYC.

Ian is currently preparing for a field excursion to do an architectural research project in Haiti.

Ian plans to work as a professional designer and builder.

Awards 

Awarded funds to take a research group to Haiti, Award

A proposal was presented to the student senate and body to take a group of students to Haiti for an architectural research project. The senate approved funding for the excursion due to it's potential benefits to the student body. A documentary video and other research materials will become available to the student body in May, 2014.
