The community of Ringwood had long been suffering with a grossly out-dated school, one which operated from temporary trailers for many years. The school had gone into great disrepair,
requiring a new roof, boilers, and windows. Additionally, the school was also code-deficient, not able to meet today’s Americans with Disabilities (ADA) standards.
A referendum was held and ultimately passed to raise the funds needed to bring the school up to the standards it must meet. The project included an addition and renovations to meet the needs of today’s students and their curricula. Construction commenced in April 2012 and wrapped in August of 2013. A new 18,500 s.f. addition now houses a state-of-the-art media center, three general classrooms, small group instruction rooms, a vocal music classroom, as well as the new centralized main office. Other improvements include the installation of an ADA accessible elevator. Total cost for improvements was $11.2 million.
