• Utilize computer programs (AutoCAD) to develop drawings which place equipment, systems, and components in a space (building) based on the requirements of a job and the specifications and standards for a specialty
• Prepare scope, schematic, preliminary and construction documents, including reports and drawing of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and telecommunications systems.
• Review work performed by outside design firms. Guide feedback exchanges, provide expertise to others.
• Monitor project implementation on site during construction, including approval for changes, Conduct field investigations/site surveys and prepare field reports.

• Using Visual which is a collection of lighting calculation tools and powerful 3D modeling software engineered to simplify the design process and provide a comprehensive analysis for advanced lighting projects.
• Review Shop drawings and submittals

The architecture technology program, the only one of its kind in the City University of New York system, educates students to assist the architect and perform at a high level of design, construction documents and construction stages of a building project. The program familiarizes students with the up-to-date architectural office practices and procedures including Building Information Modeling (BIM) three-dimensional modeling and parametrics, visualization and computer aided design (CAD). Studio work gives the students the opportunity to develop their talents by participating in the various architectural projects from inception to final drawings and models.
