Renovation of two combined apartments. An open plan living room/dining room/kitchen was designed by removing a third bedroom and, in the process, exposing a concrete column. Rather than demolishing the existing kitchen, a prep and eat-at counter was added as an adjacent extension.
The original kitchen was then resurfaced to coordinate with the extension.

The living room was designed around the placement of high end stereo equipment, optimized for listening. The equipment and television, as well as a Murphy bed, are concealed behind the custom cabinets.
