Dauntless Design Collaborative was launched in 2009, initially as a building information modeling and drafting consulting firm, and quickly added full architectural services to the firm in the same year. Formed with the idea that collaboration creates quality design, DDC starts and ends the design and building process with working with client’s needs first. Building projects also require more than just an owner, so the firm’s approach maintains a collaborative mindset with all project parties involved.
The name Dauntless is in honor of the owner Rich’s father-in-law, Bill, who passed in 2008. Bill was an aeronautical engineer who got involved with nautical engineering when he retired. Rich’s in-laws moved to Bar Harbor, Maine when he retired, and Bill started a wooden sailboat company called Dauntless Enterprises. Bill built each boat he designed and his shop sign hangs in our office today, with plans for his design drawings to be framed and on our walls as well in the near future.
Based in Williamstown, New Jersey, the firm is centrally located to the primary areas we serve. The firm primarily serves the Philadelphia Metropolitan area down to the Southern New Jersey shore, but has also been involved in projects in other areas of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Building Information Modeling (BIM) projects have expanded the firm’s reach across the United States and Internationally as well.
