Las Vegas, Nevada – Daniel Joseph Chenin, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C. was recognized with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2022 Silver Medal for the State of Nevada. Since 1995, the Silver Medal has been awarded by the AIA Nevada in recognition for the most distinguished service to the profession of architecture and acknowledgement of a significant body of work with lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture in the state of Nevada.

The AIA Silver Medal is the highest honor the AIA Nevada bestows upon an architect. Recipients must demonstrate great depth and breadth in their work; having a cumulative effect on the profession of architecture in their State; produced work that is a product of a collaborative environment; consistently addressing the future of architecture while honoring its tradition; transcended or united specific areas of expertise; and become widely known by architects, designers, educators, and the public for the quality of their work.

The Jury, comprise of architects from across the nation noted, “Daniel is without question deserving of the Silver Medal Award. From his time teaching (at UNLV) and well into his practice, he has had a lasting impression and influence on the profession, as evidenced by his accomplishments in the profession and academia. The letters of support from his former students are overwhelming and demonstrate the lasting impressions he has had. Influenced by his sponsor, Family friend, Architect, former employer, and mentor, William Snyder, FAIA – Daniel continues to clearly pay it forward to the next generation of Architects…”

The award was given by Dwayne Eshenbaugh, AIA (2021 Silver Medal recipient and UNLV Alumnus) at the annual AIA Nevada Excellence in Design and Service Awards at the Four Seasons Resort in Las Vegas on December 9, 2022.
