To Whom it may concern,
I am Daniel Ferreira, a J-1 Visa holder participating in the Architect-US Professional Career Training Program.
In my current role as an Architect at Menos e Mais Architects for the past two years, despite being in a junior capacity, I’ve assumed responsibilities akin to a Senior Architect. Managing projects from conceptualization to completion, I played a pivotal role in revitalizing the stalled ‘Janes’ project in Braga, covering 18,300 ft² with a complex program including a Shop, Restaurant and Multifamiliar housing. Navigating through challenges, I oversaw the coordination of engineering teams and delivered construction documents for the ongoing construction site.
My work at Menos é Mais Architects has fortified my proficiency in architectural software and my ability to collaborate within multifunctional teams, ensuring the successful execution of projects. The meticulous attention to detail at Menos é Mais has instilled in me the belief that “detail is where god is” underlining the importance of comprehensive planning and drawing in ensuring project success.
What distinguishes my approach to architecture is a deep-rooted interest in understanding the methodologies and creative processes behind each project. My thesis, titled “From School to the Office” dives into the methodology of the Menos é Mais office, exploring both theoretical and practical aspects of their architecture. Then by being far from my own methodology allowed me to come back and made a point of situation in the process of personal development. This experience has made me eager to keep learning new ways of thinking and doing architecture while developing myself as a person and as an architect.
