Project 1 -This project focused on exploring the concepts of joining materials and investigating the relationships between material, structure, and movement. We were then tasked with using a wooden dowel, sheet, and board to develop a locking mechanism in a joint.
Project 2 - This project focused on exploring the human body and its direct relationship and interaction with materials and understanding the basic principles of structures. Using a version of interlock as a connector or set of connectors, we were tasked with designing a “body support” for a studio mate.
Project 3 - This project focused on analyzing physical, visual, and conceptual
forces in relation to site, developing and using the systems as design tools, and understanding the human body relative to structure and scale. We were then tasked with growing/designing a warming hut for a snowshoe trail out of our
body support and interlock.
