In June 2014, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation launched its first open, anonymous, international design competition for a proposed Guggenheim museum in the Finnish capital of Helsinki. From 1,715 entries in Stage One, the 11-member jury selected six finalists. Following a public exhibition of the Stage Two finalist designs in Helsinki, the jury chose the design "Art in the City" by Paris firm Moreau Kusunoki Architects as the competition winner.
