Participated in a worldwide architecture student competition called 120 Hours. Brief was released at 1pm on 17th February and teams were given until 1pm on 22nd February to submit their entries.
Teams were tasked with creating a meeting point and festival beacon at The Øya Music Festical in Oslo which also had to explore sustainability as a tool for critical thinking. The project had to engage with and challenge the public, to raise social consciousness on alternative approaches to environmental challenges.
Our entry involved the creation of a monumental style structure which would be easily identifiable and could be used as a waypoint by all attending the festival. It incorporated the use of compostable bricks to create the main structure which featured a custom-design compact aquaponic growing system (using knowledge gained whilst working at Biospheric Project) at its centre.
This created an ambient atmosphere for festival attendees to retreat to for some time to relax amongst the business and madness of the festival surrounding them.
