Context and landscape
The main idea of the project is the upgrading of the outdoor areas, the clarification of their references and the establishment of an identity to the village. The existing school building should be retained and supplemented in a meaningful way.
The building for the community centre forms the "entrance gate" to the historic village centre.
The new classrooms complete the school campus and are located in the north of the existing school wing.
The day-care centre is located in the far east of the competition perimeter on Lowinenstrasse. They make use of the given difference in level of the site so that the entrance and the restaurant areas are at street level. The classrooms are on the upper floor with a direct connection to the greened outside area.
The new central village square is the heart of the new outdoor space. Generous areas with mineral coverings (cobblestones) enable a variety of uses. Various new plantings complete this space. They form spatial structuring elements, but also define places for benches, bicycle parking spaces or parking spaces for the municipal administration.
