Pushkinsky Theater

The purpose of the proposal was to renew the exterior of the Pushkinski Movie Theater as well as provide continuity from the Tverskoy boulevard into the Pushkin Plaza.  It is intended to overcome the barrier of the Tverskaya avenue represents for pedestrians, isolating the Pushkin Plaza from the Movie Theater, by means of an alternative pedestrian walkway completely accessible to handicapped people.  This new walkway will be configured by a series of independent articulated walkways that rotate according to the main axis of the different boulevards, creating a kinetic effect, to end up linking directly into the Movie Theater plane. At volumetric level, the element that constitutes the visual and spatial protagonist of the entire site is the Movie Theater.  Shaped like a box that deforms and breaks as a consequence of what is going on in its interior and is reflected by the contrast in the materials used.
